Rich black watercolor ink for Sumi and other water color paintings is what is contained in the bottle. I believe SEAMEW black water color ink is the finest, but I did not know how to open the bottle and how to properly access the ink. SEAMEW contacted me and provided me with the proper information in English because the package I received was all in Chinese characters. The absolute customer oriented response from SEAMEW impressed me tremendously. A company that is that concerned with the satifaction of their customers is one that I will always trust and deal with.
I bought this SEAMEW black ink because I have a Japanese Sumi brush set I bought many decades ago in a wooden box with 5 brushes and a black ink well. Using the ink with that old set (the bristles were still perfect) actually was brilliant. I bought that set in the 60's in Chicago near my Judo school. This old set paired with the ink allowed me to create some works that impressed me (the only person qualified to appreciate my genius). The quality and the quantity make the ink a great value.

This is the best ink I’ve used for my dip pen. Along with a new nib, this writes very well. Flows easily dries quickly (but not so quick it gums up the pen tip) and no noticeable bleeding.

I have used up most of the 1st set I bought. My favorite color being that blue, it is so dark and natural like an evening sky, so gorgeous and inspiring. The yellowish and greenish colors are the most earth tone greens I have ever had on my palette. I am now onto my 2nd set, I wanted to be sure that I will never run out.
